Hello. My name is Rebecca Gregg. I wanted to take a moment to talk about how State Standards impact students and teachers. Well, the impact is quite a bit actually; because, State Standards tell us what to teach and when to teach and how to teach certain things. They are essentially our roadmap, and so students can use these um standards as a glimpse into their future studies. Future teachers understand that we must meet the needs of all learners, and so we must we must be able to differentiate. Technology is a wonderful way to do so. According to Roblyer and Hughes, teachers and students must prepare themselves with knowledge and skills to be successful in the future. Technology is a great tool to do that. With tools like Kahoot, and Canva, and Microsoft Suite, GimKit, and so many others that we can use these tools to help differentiate lessons to be effective teachers. With one caution, we must teach out students to be safe online. Online safety is huge issue, so I strongly urge you to only use technology that is approved by the school district. That technology has been reached has reached an agreement with the vendors and has been approved for safety for your students. Another thing that I caution you with is to be aware of Digital Equity. As Roblyer and Hughes point out in their textbook, we must understand that not all students have access to technology and we must be able to address those needs as they arise. So, work with your district. Come up with a plan of action and be prepared to implement those so that all students can be successful. Thank you!

“As a nation, we have not yet achieved digital equity, which is “a condition in which all individuals and communities have the information technology capacity needed for full participation in our society, democracy and economy. Digital Equity is necessary for civic and cultural participation, employment, lifelong learning, and access to essential services”” (National Digital Inclusion Alliance, n.d.).
